You may have seen the teaser video for “Us Placers.” The first single of rap supergroup, CRS (Child Rebel Soldier), made up of power playas Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, and Pharrell Williams. Set over an instrumental sample of Thom Yorke’s Eraser, it’s a song about some of the issues affecting our world and the rap world today. Like the perils of fame, global warming, and the dumbing down of media. All important issues. Yet, it fails to give any shouts to the Child Rebel Soldiers of the world.
At the party next week, we’ll be raising money for VECSCAOL (The Veteran Child - Soldiers Association of Liberia). It’s an org that operates from Buduburam, Ghana helping to educate child solders and children refugees who have fled the civil war from Liberia. Some of these child soldiers are forced into battle as early as age 9. But they are strong-willed, having faced more hardship and suffering in youth than most of us will experience in a lifetime. So goes the song:
“The more you try to erase me, the more that I appear…”
“US Placers” is only the first song from CRS. We’re hoping they’re planning to focus some of that immense talent to the plight of the Child Rebel Soldiers.

I think I heard this song on the Kanye West bootleg of his new album. Speaking of, can we please buy his new album so 50 can retire. This song is hot though. Hope they can come up with more hot songs like this!

Pharrell, as a brother from the seven cities, Va Beach, Seatack, via Atlantis Apts. You should know how i feel about flexing a name w/ out any game. Please Don’t Disrespect the liberian Child Rebel Soldiers by not even inputing 1 lyric about them. Educate yourself frist. Robert’s Park in Norfolk, Va. Was named after the first Liberian President.
