i took myself on a date in williamsburg last weekend and i stumbled upon a couple of really great places
+ the first is basically a small lot in between two buildings….the ground is gravel, it is lit by exposed light bulbs (this is all out doors), there is an ipod connected to speakers, and in this lot there are designer clothes, and beautiful furniture set up… this place does not have a sign but it is called Los Encantos–the woman is from Colombia and she only carries latin american designers, mainly women–Los Encantos is opened every night from 500PM-1200AM. It is on Grand, about 25 meters east of Bedford
+ then i crossed the street to a store that I ALWAYS look at but have never been in–it is called Commune (solon & gifts)–this is probably one of the more calming places i have ever been in–i got the feeling of being inside of a pristine, cream colored forest of weeping willows and designer jewelery…there are all of these wooden boxes with glass facades–inside are beautiful earrings, necklaces, displayed over stones, and coral…and don’t forget, you can also get your hair cut…this place is great…what do you all think about this bag? 191 grand street, williamsburg, brooklyn
+ i continue on my journey and stop one more time at this high end vintage boutique–all women’s clothing– the space and the owner, were great…this Parisian born woman (had a 1980’s pony tail, blond hair with brown roots, in a jumper, pumps, and the thickest french accent i have encountered in a long time…you are going to LOVE her) has set up her store like a Fille De Joi. basically they were these places were very wealthy men would go and be surrounded by drinks, drugs, and women–people would pay huge bucks to come to these places and be courted with the most lavish of commodities the country had to offer. so this place and the woman were DRAMATIC to say the least…but amazing–you have to check it out–197 grand street, williamsburg, brooklyn
