Serve: a non-profit advertising and marketing firm

As 2007 comes to a wrap, we’ve been doing some internal planning for 2008. One of our ideas (and we would love your feedback) is to create an advertising/branding agency for non-profits that exist us. Our insight is that the non-profit industry is usually neglected with good/great advertising and branding. While doing some research on the web, we came across Serve. “A nonprofit advertising and marketing firm whose mission is to be a conduit for social change and philanthropic giving, by providing a strong voice to important but underserved charitable causes.” This is very similar to the idea started by the Planning for Good folks. But rather than working on individual briefs, wouldn’t it be great if we could put our minds together to create a strong brand for an exciting non-profit? Serve has done great work for everyone from the Alzheimer’s Association to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Read more about them on UTNE.

If there are any non-profits that would like to tap into alldaybuffet’s network of creative professionals for branding, innovation and creative problem solving, please contact us at mike[at]alldaybuffet[dot]org. Consider it as a Christmas gift from us to you!

Hey Mike, found you on Britt’s blog…actually, there are tons of niche branding cos in this arena…

As a copywriter and creative director, I can attest to some of the great work being done by Cone, Inc., (AHA, etc.) EchoDitto.com (Ashoka, etc.) Yellowbr.com (Champions for Change, Verb, etc) BigThinkStudios (EarthJustice, etc.) but alas…it’s hard to make it AFFORDABLE for nonprofits!

Our consortium has tons of media/marketing gurus as well, but they ‘can’t quit their day jobs’ so I end up paying cash for freelancers rather than be ‘backburnered’ onto a probono Ad Council style waiting list to kingdom come…

There MUST be an easier way…That said, I suppose you can add me to the mix as either a ‘client OR creative’ since I’m both! Either way, I’m glad to have found you, as we have substantial overlap in the youth mobilization realm! :-)
