Austin is known for being a hub of green movement as well as a thriving music scene. Concerts during SXSW have helped highlight the use of sustainable energy in the world around us. “Most people don’t know that the generation of electricity is the largest source of industrial air pollution. Every year millions of tons of CO2 are emitted into the atmosphere that contributes to global warming and poor air quality.” Sunstainable Waves vowed to make a difference and rents solar powered sound and staging to the lucky people of California and Texas. With rising energy costs, it is only a matter of time till most festivals are utilizing renewable energy sources to deliver 100% pollution free concerts.
