Whether in conjunction with Team Revolution, or the Midtown Community Court, help create and teach workshops for career development and/or social entrepreneurship. Could graphic design, editing, or finance skills save a kid from the projects or help them create the next social venture project? It’s probably worth donating an hour or two every once in a while to find out.

Helping kids figure out how to make a difference in the world needs to start at a very early age. Just like ADB, they need ways to understand how to get involved in causes that can have a positive impact. Teach them basic skills around organizing friends and raising money to help others will be worth the effort. Who going to lead non profits in the future?

i work at a museum in new york and was thinking last fall about how i couldn’t even be in new york let alone working in the arts if i hadn’t had great mentors teaching me how to write cover letters and interview. i would love to help make this project happen for lower income or public school ny youths through career counseling/cover letter proofing/interview skill developing ect. how can we expect the next generation to get to where they want to get going if they don’t have some mentors to help them?

Will this be then the decade of the birth of SI - with many categories and many takes on the way to get involved. Whats is ofcourse symptomatic of the movement is the belief that the energy and motive exists - what is needed is a channel. And so this group even have educating kids for social entrepreneurship - see this. [...]

There’s a fantastic program in Virginia callled The Phoenix Project, which teaches Virigina college students the fundamentals of social enterprise and then links those students with local community leaders to solve existing problems in Virginia neighborhoods.
