The New Orleans 100 list is released!

August 25th, 2008 by Jerri Chou · 1 Comment

It’s up and out and with your help it’ll be all over the place.  “The New Orleans 100″ is a worldwide initiative that will highlight and encourage discussion among millions about 100 of the most innovative and world-changing ideas to take root in the city since Katrina.

It’s the week leading up to the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and there’ll be more than enough coverage about how far the city hasn’t come. But what about the good stuff?  New Orleans isn’t all gloom and doom, it’s fun, vibrant and, to make its come back, NOLA needs some love. In a city with so much character and resilience, there’s an untold story of the million and one innovative and inspiring people, projects and ideas that define the rebirth of New Orleans– so many so that it was hard to pair it down to 100!

The list includes everything from a company that turns bail bond profits into preschool program funding, to the world’s first receivables exchange; from musicians poised to one-up Lil Wayne to the largest biennial of international contemporary art ever organized in the United States

Haven’t heard?  That’s the point. Spread the word about any one to one hundred projects on the list by emailing the list, blogging the list, digging it, stumbling it, and yelling it out their windows!

You can make a difference. All it takes is a click.

We <3 New Orleans. Show some love.

Great list. Looks a little biased, but I’m happy to see we have a 100 things to highlight.
