The NYC Venture Philanthropy Fund (VPF), a giving circle launched in 2008 to support social entrepreneurs in New York City across a variety of fields, announces that it is accepting grant proposals from local nonprofits that seek to protect or improve the environment. The grantee selected will receive a one-year $10,000 cash grant, technical assistance and access to VPF’s professional and social networks. The deadline for proposal submissions has been extended to Friday September 26, 2008.
“VPF was built by a diverse group of New Yorkers to redefine philanthropy. Our goal is to develop new approaches to change – and we intentionally seek to partner with small, entrepreneurial nonprofit organizations that have not yet received significant support from major funders. Together, we can create pattern-breaking change on environmental issues in New York City.”
