Children are the future, but unless we address the millions of children in the US going without adequate health care, that future’s not something to be so proud of. A topic of much debate and contention right now, we’re looking forward to having Dr. Irwin Redlener lead a discussion about just this at The Feast on Health dinner tonight, Monday August 10th.
A pediatrician, child advocate and expert on disaster preparedness, Dr. Redlener founded the Children’s Health Fund 1987 with singer/songwriter Paul Simon to providing health care to the nation’s most medically underserved children through the development and support of innovative primary care medical programs; response to public health crises; and the promotion of guaranteed access to appropriate health care for all children.
In addition to providing public education and political advocacy, CHF now serves children across America in both rural and urban disadvantaged communities including major work in New York and New Orleans.
“America’s future is inexorably bound to the health, education and well-being of its children. Right now, too many children remain outside the system, simply not getting the basic care they need.” — Irwin Redlener
Join us in a discuss on how to better that system and future.
