What else should you know about The Feast?

1. “I didn’t have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead.” — Mark Twain. Each speaker will have either 15 or 20-minutes to present at The Feast. This allows for a very concise, short, and inspirational presentation/talk (similar to TEDTalks). We don’t allow Q&A because of our strict timeline.

2. We don’t have any panel discussions because we don’t really like them. We think that most panel discussions turn into a big ego-fest that do not add any value to the attendees.  We believe that there’s more value in a prepared presentation rather than an informal discussion.

3. We offer lots of breaks and networking opportunities. We’re giving a 30-minute break every 1.5 hours to give people time to relax, network, and eat!

4. We curate our audience as much as we curate our speakers. As you can see from our speaker list, we have speakers from education, design, music, etc., which in turn attracts a very diverse audience. We believe that social innovation occurs “between different kinds of people and disparate forms of knowledge.”

5. We don’t release the schedule, ever. The Feast is similar to a play or musical. We do not encourage attendees to come view certain speakers. There are 4 sessions (or acts) and we curate the entire day as an experience. Each speaker will weave into each other, and overall themes will work together. At the end of the day, we (All Day Buffet) will give closing remarks and present this year’s theme, which will be revealed kind of like the movie, “The Usual Suspects” (at the end).

6. We do not give out gift bags, and we do not hand out programs. Rather than having unnecssary waste, we have a “buffet” which allows attendees to pick and choose what items they would like to add to their gift bag (if they even want one). Also, since we don’t release our schedule, we don’t print out programs. It’s the greener way. And, oh yeah, we compost everything, thanks to Sustainable Party!

So, there your looked underneath our hood.  We would love to see you at  The Feast on October 1st at The Times Center in NYC.  And don’t forget to register if you haven’t already!
